Gift-giving & minimalism
Gift-giving & minimalism
During this Christmas period with my mother-in-law for the 1st time, I have been telling my mother-in-law that I don’t do gifts anymore. Accumulating things is not my thing.
On boxing day, I found a lovely Christmas wish card and three Christmas gifts wrapped beautifully that my mother-in-law left on the couch table for me and my husband.
Finally, I am feeling Christmas for the first time in a while. I imagine her gift-giving journey and love for us.
I am a minimalist.
But,
It might be about the time for me to think of a minimalist way of gift-giving.
Reuse given gift wrappers for a next gift? Get consumable or very practical stuff as a gift?
Gift-giving makes the world warm and loving.
I am the luckiest person surrounded by a lot of generous people (I got a couple of unexpected farewell gifts from my previous workmates this week being my last week in the firm). I keep reminded of kindness.
I learnt again, and now I am already waiting for the next Christmas.
